Spiritual readiness is a critical part of disaster preparedness and can be extremely beneficial in the disaster recovery process.
Having faith will give you courage to face the storms of life.
I would encourage you to purchase a small pocket size bible and print off this page to put in your bug-out bag and/or with your survival supplies so you will have them when you need the comfort of God's word.
How to Grow Your Faith
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. (Rom.10:17) This is why people recommend that you read the scriptures out loud. This empowers your faith when you hear yourself saying His Word out loud.
The more you hear His Word the stronger your faith will be in the face of adversity. And soon the conditions around you will not intimidate you because, For we walk by faith, not by sight. (2nd Cor. 5:7)
Being Spiritually Ready is also about being prepared for the 'what ifs' of life.
This is something important to think about and to be able to get to the place where you are confident in the outcome.
The harsh reality is that natural and man-made disasters are increasing, see US Disaster Statistics for actual numbers, and with this increase the death toll increases as well. Simply put - Not everyone will survive.
Have you ever thought - What if I don't survive or what if one of
my family members doesn't make it, what happens after we die?
Are you prepared for the unthinkable to happen? Do you know where you will spend eternity?
Please take a moment to watch this video and consider God's plan for your eternity.

How Can You Know the God of Promise
Would you like to know your Heavenly Father?
He alone can give you peace during times of turmoil and He alone can bring order, salvation, restoration, and redemption out of calamity and chaos.
For God is merciful and gracious and helps us more than we will ever truly be aware of in this lifetime. So, no matter what your current relationship with Him today, know that He hears when you call.
We ask of Him - Be merciful and gracious to me, O God, be merciful and gracious to me, for my soul takes refuge and finds shelter and confidence in You; yes, in the shadow of Your wings will I take refuge and be confident until calamities and destructive storms are passed. -Psalm 57:1
He answers - Because he holds fast to Me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows My name. When he calls to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation. -Psalm 91
10 promises from God’s Word
The bible is full of God's promises and here is a list of my favorites. In some cases, the pronouns have been changed to first person to make the scriptures more personal to you as you say them.
Have faith in God! Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. (Mark 11:22, 24)
For without faith it is impossible to please God. For those who come to Him must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him. (Heb.11:6)
My God shall supply all my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Phil.4:19)
I cast all my care on You, O Lord, for You care for me. (1 Peter 5:7)
I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me. (Phil.4:13)
Trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not to my own understanding. In all my ways I acknowledge Him and He will direct my path. (Prov.3:5-6)
"...while I look not at the things that are seen but at the things that are not seen. For the things that are seen are temporary, but the things that are not seen are eternal. (2nd Cor. 4:18)
And now to You, O Lord, who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think according to the power that works in us. (Eph. 3:20)
Give and it will be given to you, good measure, pressed down and shaken together will be put into your bosom. (Luke 6:38)
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And prove me now, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such a blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. (Mal. 3:10)
